Community Volunteers is a pilot programme to support local needs in our communities

Community Volunteers will have the opportunity to support local events and festivals along with more urgent, one off needs like we saw with the community response to COVID-19.

Becoming a Community Volunteer is a great opportunity to get involved in your local community by supporting local events and initiatives. It is a chance to learn more about your local area, meet new people and develop new skills. And it’s great fun!

This pilot project is initially running in the following counties: Carlow, Cork, Donegal, Dublin City, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, Fingal, Galway, Kildare, Leitrim, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, South Dublin, and Wicklow.

  • Welcome ambassador at a local festival
  • Doing grocery shopping for someone who is self-isolating due to COVID-19
  • Supporting displaced people arriving to your community

  • Helping a foodbank sort through a large delivery
