In 2018, all 21 Volunteer Centres achieved Quality Standards Awards

There are 21 Volunteer Centres in the Republic of Ireland. Along with supporting volunteers to find organisations to volunteer with – and vice versa – they deliver a number of services to support volunteering in their counties. One of these is the provision of training in volunteer management and leadership to organisations that involve volunteers.

Good volunteer management is at the heart of volunteering across Ireland and Volunteer Centres teach best practice in volunteer management to organisations big and small. See below for all upcoming training courses.

Upcoming local Volunteer Centre Training

During COVID-19 training is not being delivered locally. Your local Volunteer Centre may be offering online options, check with your Volunteer Centre directly. Volunteer Ireland are offering a series of free Fundamentals of Volunteer Management webinars, you can find details on our training page.

Your Experience Counts

Many older people are huge contributors to our communities, bringing a wealth of life and professional experience to their roles. COVID-19 has restricted many from accessing their usual community activity.

Our communities have been the poorer for this loss but what has been the impact for the individual themselves?

We are holding an online focus group (being held via Zoom) on Thursday, 25th March at 1pm to hear the lived experience of these volunteers over the past year.

Please register in advance HERE to attend.

Empowering you, Empowering our Community

We are very excited to launch a new six-week programme for prospective board members, through our Good Relations Initiative, and starting Tuesday 13th April at 10am. This comprehensive, practical programme will equip prospective community board members with the knowledge to fulfil the duties of a voluntary board member in a Charity or Community & Voluntary Sector organisation.

The project is supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special European Programmes Body (SEUPB) and supported locally by Louth County Council and Louth Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and it is with thanks to this support that we can offer it for free to participants.

We are also hosting a short Lunch & Learn session on Thursday 15th April at 1pm to chat about Microvolunteering and its benefits for volunteers and organisations.
