The key message of this session is that we are far more effective as volunteers when we first show up for ourselves. Self-care is about learning to be your own best friend. It is not about self -indulgence but doing what we need, to take good care of ourselves. When we value our own needs we are more tuned into the needs of others and have greater capacity for truly being of help.
The session will include some information about mindfulness, a chance to sample a short mindfulness practice and will offer some tips about self-care.

Dominic is a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher. He has been practicing mindfulness for over sixteen years. He teaches courses with The Mindfulness Centre and The Sanctuary in Dublin as well as the ETB.
