Older Volunteers

As an older volunteer you may choose to volunteer for a number of reasons:

• you have recently retired and have more time on your hands
• you would like to meet people who have similar values
• you want to make new friends
• you want to support an organisation or issue that is important to you
• now that you have more time on your hands you want to give something back to your local community
• you want to learn something knew
• you want to stay active and involved
• you have a lifetime of skills and experience that you would like to share

As an older volunteer you can sign up to volunteerin two differentways. First, you can register with your local Volunteer Centre who will thencontact you to discuss suitable volunteer opportunities in your area. Second, you can search the listing of volunteer opportunities and register for a specific opportunity that interests you.
