Wyeth : Sponsor for Give It A Swirl Day 2008

Volunteer Centres Ireland are delighted to announce that Wyeth are the lead sponsor for Give It A Swirl Day.
Wyeth is one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and healthcare products companies. We are research-driven, with a major focus on developing innovative new medicines that really make a difference to people’s lives and address significant areas of unmet medical need.
Wyeth has been in Ireland for over 30 years, with the following facilities and operations:
Wyeth Nutritionals Ireland
Located in Askeaton, Co. Limerick, Wyeth Nutritionals Ireland was established in 1974 and manufactures and distributes infant nutritional products. This operation currently employs over 550 people.
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Comsumer Healthcare and SMA Nutrition
Wyeth also employs over 100 people based in Dublin engaged in the Sales, Marketing and Full Medical Support for a wide portfolio of Wyeth Pharmaceutical and SMA Nutritonal products.
Wyeth Biotech
Is a state of the art Biopharmaceutical campus located on a 90-acre site at the Grange Castle Business Park in South County Dublin. This is Wyeth's latest investment in Ireland, it was officially opened in September 05. This development is one of the largest integrated biopharmaceutical campus in the world and is the only facility in Europe to manufacture biotech, vaccines and small molecules under one roof. Over 1,280 full time employees have been recruited to date.
Wyeth Medica Ireland
Located in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Wyeth Medica Ireland was established in 1992. Since then, successive expansions have seen the site grow from 40 to over 120 acres, with employment growing from 50 to well over 1,000 people in a facility of over 1,000,000 sq ft. Today Wyeth Newbridge is a centre of excellence for the global and regional supply of existing products. We are also the manufacturer of choice for new and innovative therapies that are currently in the research and development pipeline.
Fort Dodge Animal Health (FDAH)
The animal health division of Wyeth in Ireland, FDAH operates one site, which is located in Sligo. This operation, which currently employs around 100 people, was established in 1990 and manufacturers and distributes a wide range of veterinary vaccines/biologicals.
