European Neighbours Day comes to Dublin 8!

19/05/08

VCI helps out as Dublin City South Volunteer Centre gets to know their new Neighbours!

As part of European Neighbours Day - the 27th of May- Volunteer Centres Ireland lent its support to Dublin City South Volunteer Centre, by taking part in an interactive art project held in Caffé Noto in the Thomas Street area of Dublin 8.
Dublin City Volunteer Centre, a member of VCI, have recently moved to 76 Thomas Street, Dublin 8 and so they celebrated the move by getting together with their new neighbours in Caffé Noto along with the nearby  Connolly and Liberty créches.. The paintings will be on view in Caffé Noto, 79 Thomas Street in the near future.

European Neighbours’ Day aims to bring communities together by encouraging people to talk to their neighbours and get to know each other. It was initiated in France in 1999 and spread to the rest of Europe in 2004. Last year more than 7 million people took part across Europe and this year it is expected to be bigger than ever.
