Kerry Volunteer Centre Workshops for Volunteer-Involving Organisations

Kerry Volunteer Centre will deliver two half day workshops on volunteer recruitment procedures and policy next month 

 

Kerry Volunteer Centre will deliver two half day workshops on volunteer recruitment procedures and policy at 9.30-1pm on Friday 14th and 28th of March in the Killarney Heights Hotel.

The aims of the workshops are threefold
1. To build the capacity of organisations around their involvement of volunteers.
2. To create awareness amongst attendants of best practice in involving volunteers.
3. To show how best practice can be developed and implemented.

The workshops will be explanatory, interactive and task orientated with attendants given tasks to complete during and between the 14th and 28th of March. Support will be readily available at all times to assist in the completion of tasks and to answer questions.

By the end of the workshops attendants will have
• A working knowledge of best practice in involving volunteers.
• Developed a volunteer application form for their organisation.
• Developed a volunteering charter for their organisation
• Explored the purpose of a volunteer policy.
• Developed an understanding on how to develop and implement a volunteer policy
• Drafted a volunteer policy for consolation amongst their organisation.

Places are limited to 2 attendants per organisation and early booking is advised. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Workshops on Garda Vetting Service

Kerry Volunteer Centre will deliver three half day workshops to voluntary and non profit organisations wishing to avail of KVC’s Garda Vetting Service at 9.30-1pm on Friday 11th, 18th and 25th of April in the Killarney Heights Hotel. Attendance at each workshop is mandatory if you wish to avail of KVC Garda Vetting Service for your organisation.

The aims of the workshops are
1. To explain KVC Garda Vetting Service
2. To prepare organisations to avail of KVC Garda Vetting Service.
3. To support organisations to avail of KVC Garda Vetting Service.

By the end of the workshops attendants will have
• Evaluated the different methods of screening volunteers.
• Examined how KVC Garda Vetting Service will operate.
• Explored their organisation's data protection responsibilities.
• Considered the policy implications for their organisation. 
• Assessed their organisation's readiness to avail of Garda Vetting
• Identified their next steps to avail of Garda Vetting.
