Sample Skilled Volunteering Roles
This year we are encouraging organisations to think about involving skilled volunteers. Skilled volunteering doesn't mean recruiting engineers or doctors but evaluating what kind of skills could support your organisation and designing a role to suit those needs. It could be a one off project, a role that can be done at home or a long term commitment. The important thing is that you identify the skills you need and find a volunteer who possesses those skills. Often the hardest thing for organisations is identifying exactly what kind of skills and volunteers would benefit them. We've put together a few sample roles to help get you thinking. If you need any more advice, contact your local Volunteer Centre.
Writing the best role description for your volunteer ad
One of the easiest ways to attract the right volunteer for you is to make sure you put up an accurate and inviting role description. Often organisations are too busy and only have time to fill out the bare minimum before they post an opportunity. Making your role description both clear and attractive gives you a better chance of recruiting the right volunteer, which will save you hassle in the long run. We've written this handy guide to writing better role descriptions.
