Ray McGovern, Dublin City South Volunteer Centre, Fingal Volunteer Centre and Others

Ray has volunteered for a host of events and festivals through Dublin City South Volunteer Centre and Fingal Volunteer Centre for over a year now.  Ray has volunteered for the Little Museum of Dublin, Bram Stoker Vampire Hunt, Flavours of Fingal, the Ireland v England International Cricket Match, Open House Dublin Architecutre Festival, Fingal Football Festival, the Dublin Tall Ships Festival and the Thomas Street Ambassador Programme.  Ray is also a Volunteer Community Champion for the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation, Our Lady’s Children’s Hosptial, Crumlin.

Caroline McClure, Placement officer with Dublin City South Volunteer Centre, nominated Ray for the Volunteer Ireland Awards, she said “Ray is one of our most active and enthusiastic volunteers who also does loads of miscellaneous Events volunteering through Fingal Volunteer Centre. He is a self-confessed 'history junkie' and has the gift of sharing his vast knowledge and learning with warmth, enthusiasm, good humour and intelligence. We would love to see Ray's unique contribution to Dublin formally recognised.”
