All Aboard for Give it a Swirl!
Volunteers Wanted- during the month of September– to head down to your local train station and distribute information about Give it a Swirl – the national day of volunteering.
What is Give it a Swirl Day?
Give it a Swirl - the national day of volunteering is sponsored by Ianroid Eireann and is a unique initiative that concentrates on hands-on involvement- giving volunteers an immediate sense of achievement.
For GIAS, we encourage organisations to create once-off volunteering opportunities that benefit them and the community – and which show that volunteering, even for a few short hours, can make a difference and be a lot of fun. If people want to get involved in volunteering on a more long-term basis as a result, we’re all in favour of that too!
However we also urge individuals – neighbours, colleagues and school friends – to come up with their own ideas of how they can Give it a Swirl! Give it a Swirl is about giving it a go! Maybe you’ve volunteered all your life, maybe you’ve never volunteered. Either way, why not get involved in the national day of volunteering and share the experience with your colleagues, friends and your community.
What do we need you to do?
We want you to join a team of volunteers distributing flyers about in order to help as many people as possible find about volunteering and Give it a Swirl.
