Love to get involved in Give it a Swirl but don’t have the time? Here at VCI we are all too aware that there never seem to be enough hours in the day to accomplish all that we wish to accomplish! That said, we are eager to prove that volunteering does not have to be a time consuming activity, so we have come up with a few suggestions that demonstrate just how easy it is to make a difference –even on a tight time budget!
Why not take a leaf out of the Hope Foundation’s book and participate in a 24 hour fast for a charity of your choice? Or follow Wyeth’s lead and donate blood on your lunchbreak? (Wyeth organised to have a mobile blood donation clinic come to one of their offices so that employees could give blood at their own convenience) How about organising a civvies day/denim day at work, where employees or school goers donate a small fee to a chosen charity to wear casual/denim clothes to work? You could even offer to do the grocery shopping for an elderly neighbour! The possibilities are endless -the only limit is your imagination!
