Manager required for Mayo Volunteer Centre

Mayo Volunteer Centre wish to recruit for the post of Manager with Mayo Volunteer Centre. Mayo Volunteer Centre is funded through the Department of Environment, Community & Local Government. The Mayo Volunteer Centre manages the process of matching potential volunteers with volunteering opportunities and organisations throughout the County. The primary objective of the organisation is to promote and support volunteerism in Mayo.

 

The duties of the Manager will include:

  • Assist the steering committee in the development and design of a strategic plan for the sustainability of a county-wide volunteer centre in Mayo.
  • Monitor and Implement the strategic plan
  • Develop the centre as a viable resource for voluntary and community groups and volunteers, including implementing appropriate policies and practice guidelines across County Mayo.
  • dentify and seek additional funding opportunities for the centre and future project developments.
  • Promote and develop concept of volunteering to all sections of the community.


The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:

  • Direct management experience in a similar or related field
  • Appropriate 3rd level qualifications or relevant Community and Voluntary sector experience
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of planning and managing budgets.
  • Experience of developing and implementing strategic plans/ work plans.
  • Ability to work with a very wide range of individuals and organisations.
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Commitment to community development principles
  • Excellent ICT skills and preferably experience with Sales force or similar web based database.
  • A driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
